Operations & Finance Coordinator Job Description
SUMMARY:The South Dakota Agri-Business Association is the leading voice for South Dakota’s agri-business industry, representing ag retailers, grain elevators, seed, equipment, crop protection, and industry partners across the state. Our members support South Dakota’s farmers and ranchers, and SDABA is proud to advocate for and serve them.
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Association’s financial management and day-to-day operations at the SDABA office in Aberdeen. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys working independently, managing multiple responsibilities, and helping keep an organization running smoothly and efficiently.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage the Association’s financial operations, including:
- Financial reporting
- Invoicing and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Tax filings and financial recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate membership records and database management
- Process membership billing, renewals, and related communications
- Manage billing and tracking of surety bond renewals and increases
- Coordinate and support daily office operations in the Aberdeen area
- Provide administrative support, including:
- Phone and email correspondence
- Meeting preparation and minutes
- Office supply management
- General organizational support
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, or office administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- Professional communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Occasional travel for SDABA events and meetings
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (meeting materials and office supplies)
- Some schedule flexibility during major Association events
