Regional Sales Manager for Agtegra Cooperative Named Leon Wrage Award Winner by South Dakota Agri-Business Association
Sioux Falls, S.D. — Dave Clark of Frederick received the Leon Wrage Award winner at the South Dakota Agri-Business Association (SDABA) annual Ag Expo held in Sioux Falls.“Our honoree Dave Clark has had a career that reflects the values, commitment and dedication of Leon Wrage and we are proud to recognize him with this award,” said Mark Schaffner, President, SDABA. “Clark is known for his dedication to the agricultural industry, his exceptional leadership within the cooperative system, and his lasting contribution to the SDABA.”
Clark grew up in the Hecla area and was immersed in crops and livestock production. He currently lives on his wife’s family homestead southeast of Frederick where they raise corn and soybeans.
The South Dakota State University (SDSU) graduate has a degree in agronomy and has had ag-related roles at Cenex in Hecla, Perham Co-op Creamery in Minnesota, before joining South Dakota Wheat Growers in Bristol. Today, Clark leads the Northeast Region agronomy sales team at
Agtegra Cooperative.
Over the past 32 years Clark has built an extraordinary career rooted in the cooperative model, progressing from operations to agronomy, then into leadership roles. He has served with SDABA for 19 years on the Board of Directors and served three terms as President.
Clark is also an advocate for agricultural education and advocacy through involvement with Ag in the Classroom. He has welcomed elementary students into ag facilities, shared knowledge and helped connect the next generation to agriculture.
About Wrage
Wrage, the namesake of the award was active with SDABA, a member of the South Dakota Hall of Fame, retired Weed Specialist at SDSU and a household name as a panelist on the “Garden Line” show on South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
During his career, Wrage worked closely with producers, industry representatives, commercial applicators and homeowners on weed management. He was known as someone who would go "above and beyond" in his service to the crop production industry and residents of South Dakota.
