John Deere Dealers Gather for Hands-On Training With New Leader’s NL720 Spinner Box

In early October, sales teams from Kibble Equipment, RDO Equipment Co., and C&B Operations met near Lennox, SD, for a hands-on training day focused on New Leader’s newly released NL720 spinner box. The event, organized by Kibble Equipment and led by Commercial Sales Professional Aaron Johnson, brought together representatives from John Deere and New Leader to demonstrate system performance, setup, calibration, and real-field operation of this next-generation application system, now available on the John Deere 600R chassis.
The NL720 is engineered to deliver wider, more precise, and more efficient dry application for today’s high-productivity operations. During the field session, attendees reviewed key features, observed live spread pattern demonstrations, and discussed best practices for helping customers prepare for the 2025 application season.

Participants also used John Deere Operations Center to analyze application maps, evaluate machine productivity, and wirelessly send prescriptions to the 600R. This allowed attendees to see how machine data, agronomy insights, and job execution all connect in real time, enhancing both operator efficiency and customer support.

Key Advantages of the NL720 – and What Attendees Learned

Throughout the event, participants gained hands-on experience with several major advancements designed to improve agronomic accuracy and operator efficiency:
  • 120-foot spread pattern. Attendees saw firsthand how the wider swath reduces passes, fuel use, and compaction.
  • 33% more efficient, high-output design. Demonstrations highlighted how increased throughput translates to more acres covered per hour.
  • 16-section swath width control. Dealers learned how section control helps minimize over-application and improve placement accuracy.
  • Fast 3-pan pattern testing. Teams practiced the simplified calibration process, reinforcing how quickly operators can verify spread quality.
  • Dual bins for two-product application. Side-by-side demos showed how applying two products in one pass saves time and machine hours.
  • Variable-rate width spreading (120’, 90’, 80’, 70’). Instructors walked through scenarios where operators can adjust widths on the fly for borders, wind, or prescriptions.
  • Zero grease points. Attendees noted the reduced daily maintenance workload and improved uptime for applicators.
Training Take-Away for Kibble, RDO, C&B and Their Customers

This collaborative training equipped dealer teams with a deeper understanding of the NL720’s capabilities and reinforced how its upgrades translate into real-world value for growers. Participants left with stronger product confidence, clearer ROI messaging, and practical experience with setup, calibration, pattern evaluation, and the power of connecting machine data through Ops Center.

With demand growing for accurate, efficient nutrient application, the NL720 brings a significant productivity boost to the John Deere 600R platform. And thanks to training events like this, dealers such as Kibble, RDO, and C&B are well-prepared to support growers as they adopt this next-generation spinner box technology.
