SUMMARY:
South Dakota Agri-Business Association is the state’s leading association representing ag retailers, grain elevators and the companies they work with. The association takes great pride in the fact our members support South Dakota’s number one industry - agriculture. The administrative director requires a broad skill set and encompasses a range of responsibilities that support the organizational goals of the Association. The position is responsible for financial responsibilities as well as administrative duties.   

The administrative director is a permanent, full-time position and located at the SDABA office in Pierre.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Administers the financial operations of the Association
  • Manages operations of the SDABA Office in Pierre
  • Maintains the membership database, ensuring it’s updated with current information
  • Manages surety bond renewals and increases; processing bonds and bond riders for grain and warehouse clients
  • Prepares reports and documents covering accounting transactions for management review
  • Manages invoicing procedures to collect money owed by clients/customers
  • Reconciles bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Prepares and files certain tax forms and other financial documents
  • Manages the event registration process for conferences and special events
  • Updates and maintains websites
  • Performs administrative duties, including answering phone calls, taking meeting minutes, ordering supplies, etc.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and independent decision-making
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to obtain property & casualty insurance license (SDABA will pay for training and exam)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • Salary commensurate with experience: range $45,000 - $60,000
  • Health insurance overage (medical)
