Scholarship Information
2011
Scholarship Program-Deadline March 1, 2011
Three - $1000 College Scholarships will be awarded!
Each year, SDABA awards a total of $3,000 in
scholarships to high school and/or undergraduate
students majoring in agriculture in South Dakota.
Open to customers, employees, or family members of an
employee of members of the South Dakota Agri-Business
Association.
Scholarship Application
Procedure and Rules:

Applicant must be a customer,
employee, or family member of an employee of a
member of the South Dakota Agri-Business Association
(SDABA).

Recipient must major in agriculture.
-
Applicant must attend an accredited
South Dakota University or Technical School the same
year the scholarship is received.
-
Applicant may be a high school senior
or registered freshman, sophomore, or junior at a
South Dakota University or Technical School.

Applications must be received by
March 1, 2011.

The scholarship will be sent directly
to the South Dakota University or Technical School.
To Enter:
The following seven items will constitute the
application. There is no formal application form.

Name, address, and phone number.
-
Parents’ name, address and phone
number.
-
SDABA members’ name, address and
phone number.
-
Copy of most current high school
transcript.
-
Copy of ACT scores.
-
South Dakota University or Technical
School to be attended.
-
Personal resume stating achievements,
community involvement, and future goals in
agriculture.
Creativity and imagination will be a
segment of the judging process.
Decisions of the judges is final.

2010 Scholarship Winners:

Mark Misar, customer of Country Pride
Cooperative in . Mark attends SDSU as
an Agronomy major and wishes to become a crop
consultant in South Dakota when he graduates.

Alaina Kringen, customer of Monsanto
in Madison. Alaina attends SDSU, and
hopes to achieve a doctorate in large animal
veterinary care.
2009 Scholarship Winners:
-
Cody Oswald, customer of Country Pride
Cooperative in Freeman. Cody plans to
attend SDSU to become an Agronomist.

Samantha Nelson, customer of Johnson's
Ranchers Supply in Wall. Samantha will
be attending BHSU to complete a degree in
Biology and hopes to run her own ranch
operation.

Shane Moberg, customer of Ag First
Farmers Coop in Brookings. Shane
attends Lake Area Technical Institute pursuing a
degree in Agri-Business.
2008
Scholarship Winners:

Emily Helms,
customer of Johnson’s Ranchers Supply in Wall.
Emily plans to attend SDSU to complete a degree
in Agronomy, Range Management or Ag Education.

Brian Bye,
customer of Valley Ag Supply, Inc in Gayville.
Brian is attending SDSU to obtain a degree in Ag
Business and plans to work in an Agriculture
related field.

Clint Covey,
customer of Country Pride Coop in Winner.
Clint will be attending SDSU this fall with a
major in agronomy and would like to work for a
seed or chemical company.
